Most people live under the misconception that the only way to speed up your metabolism is using some sort of diet pills. There are two ways to successfully increase your metabolism in a natural way. These two ways are through diet and fitness. There are many reasons for a decrease metabolism; like age, medications and illnesses. Most people can easily increase theirs safely through a better diet and a regular fitness routine.

Smaller meal sizes can help increase metabolism. But it isn’t just about how much food you eat, the type of food you eat is important also. Cut out most salt intake, sugar intake and fried foods. Healthy food choices and correct portion sizes will help boost the metabolism. The best food choices are lean meats, fruit, vegetables, whole grains and low or no-fat dairy products. Read labels for correct portion sizes and stick to them.

Without exercise there is no way to increase the metabolism. Regular daily fitness get the blood flowing and gets the heart pumping, which gets the metabolism going. Everyone should get at least twenty minutes of fitness or physical activity at least five days a week. Increase this to get a boost. Change up your fitness routine each day to really get your metabolism on the rise.

Many dieters struggle to lose weight, even after months of faithfully attending to the strict demands of their nutritional intake. Metabolic rates, energy demands and stress levels may all contribute to a failure to shed pounds and reduce body fat, but the single greatest step that dieters can take towards achieving their health and fitness goals is to combine a healthy, nutritious diet with regular cardiovascular exercise and resistance training. By employing this three-tiered program, dieters will start to see the pounds come off, body fat reduced, muscle tone increased and daily energy levels skyrocketing dramatically.

Regular and intense cardiovascular exercise such as running, brisk walking, bicycling, swimming or aerobics not only strengthens the heart, lungs and their attendant delivery systems for oxygen and nutrients, but also burns amazing amounts of calories with every episode. Dieters interested in melting fat need to engage in intense cardiovascular exercise three to five times weekly for at least 45 minutes per session.

Similarly, resistance training, more commonly called weight lifting, not only builds and strengthens muscles and connective tissues, but tones the muscles and burns high number of calories. Lifting even moderate weight with every muscle group five days per week will contribute to burning fat, increasing energy levels and helping dieters to achieve their health and fitness goals.

Many people struggles for months or even years with managing or losing weight. Although this process is not rocket science, you do have to be a bit educated in the art of metabolism and how your body works in order to achieve desired results. First off, most people do not realize that the metabolic mechanisms within the body that digests food can either slow down or speed up throughout a lifetime. All in all, it is up to you to increase your metabolism, which is the ultimate desired result. To make it easier, here are the basics to metabolism. The more your metabolism increases the easier you will find it to lose the weight because your body is quickly digesting and getting rid of unnecessary fats and other additives that only add poundage. You can increase your metabolism by dividing up your eating into five meals that are moderate to light in nature. Your body will then get used to the scheduling and begin to speed up its process. You may also find yourself having trouble to stick with this plan; however, after a week or so the prospect should get easier. Remember, your metabolism is the key to beginning to achieve the desired results you have been looking for.

There are tons of shows on http://www.direct.tv/ satellite right now about how to lose weight and keep it off but none of it matters if your metabolism is slow. Here are a few suggestions to rev up your body’s natural fat burn system when you’re starting a new weight-loss plan:
Eat Breakfast: We’ve said it here before but eating breakfast is the best thing you can do to get your metabolism going. If your body starts off the day burning calories it will be hungrier, yes, but you won’t need as much to fill it up long term.
Get Moving: A brisk walk is all it takes to get your metabolism flowing and you’ve got to do it every day. Move somehow at least once every 24 hours whether that means walking the dog, using the elliptical or even working in the garden.
Eat More Spices: The spicier your food is the harder your body has to work to digest it. Think Indian food and consider spices like cinnamon and chili powder in your everyday cooking.

Start your exercises with resistance workouts. These exercises help produce lean muscle while boosting up your metabolism. Breaking down the existing muscle fibers can build muscle quicker, and they rebuild faster when you sleep. Using a Swiss ball is a great exercise for your abs, performing this in a routine will give you more strength, endurance and stability.

Power Intervals
Interval workouts take your exercise routines to another level. Instead of having a slow running pace, interval workouts will double or speed up the process, boosting your metabolism. When training with dumbbells or weights, try doing sets up 10 throughout the day. Doing so will add clarity to your health and strengthen your immune system.

Fitness Aerobics
Cardiovascular exercises help extend muscle mass, vitality and metabolism. These workouts should be done consistently for 30 to 45 minutes daily. Studies show that an aerobics excercise can boost your overall health faster than other workouts. Combining aerobics and cardio might be the best exercise. Programs like Rev It Up incorporate small weights and resistance bands with intense full-speed, martial-arts influenced workout periods.

Other Exercises That Boost Metabolism
1. Sit Ups
2. Full Throttle Push Ups
3. Jump Roping
4. Squat Thrust
5. Pull Ups
6. Cardio Training

Feeling sluggish and finding that you are gaining weight? You may have a slow metabolism. Eating too much or too little food can result in a slow metabolism. Not exercising, getting enough vitamins or drinking enough water can also cause for a slower metabolism. There are things you can do to speed up your metabolism and avoid the things that slow it down. Eating a well-balanced meal gives your body the vitamins and minerals it needs, therefore increasing your metabolism. Doing little things, such as eating breakfast everyday can also help boost your metabolism. You can incorporate some type of exercise into your daily routine. Exercising gets you off the couch and can help you lose weight which in turn helps speed up your metabolism. Avoid eating excessively and constantly sitting around. Try video games that get you up and moving without even realizing what you are doing; walking or outdoor activities are also another great way to incorporate exercise. If you want to speed up your metabolism, there are small daily things that you can do such as trying healthier recipes or going for a walk in the morning. Avoid getting seconds at dinner time or sitting in front of the TV when you eat. Changing small things can make a big difference!

The obsession today is to be slim and stay slim. Dieting is not the answer. What we need is to look at our metabolism and how it works. Our metabolism has a tremendous amount of influence over our ability to lose weight and keep it off. What exactly is it and how does it work. Metabolism actually has to do with how efficiently our bodies process the food that we take in every day. So if we have a sluggish metabolism then we don’t process our food optimally. We need to boost our metabolism and the best way to do that is with the foods that we eat. Here are 5 foods that can boost your metabolism and get it working efficiently.
Caffeine can boost your metabolism but be sure to limit your intake to no more than 2 cups per day more than that can cause nervousness
Salmon which contains the omega 3′s helps to improve blood circulation
Broccoli has vitamin C and gets the body going.
Lean Turkey being a made up of protein has been proven to boost metabolism
Oatmeal can help but only the regular rolled oats not the instant.
These are just a few foods that help boost metabolism.

Metabolism is the process of taking in food and processing it into energy throughout the body. The faster a person’s metabolism is, the faster that person can lose weight. The slower his metabolism rate is, the slower his rate of weight loss will be. It seems that some people can eat just about anything and lose weight while others diet and get no significant results.

People who battle with quick weight gain and obesity question whether the speed of their metabolism is associated with genetics. In other words they would like to know if they can blame their parents.I was looking for more information and found it here.

The answer to this question is yes and no. People do tend to inherit tendencies for certain metabolic rates from their parents through genetics. However, genetics can not take credit for the entire process.

Rate of metabolism can also be affected by food a person eats, the amount of exercise a person performs, and how much stress in their life. So while one person might have a genetic tendency to have a slow metabolism, he could boost his rate by eating healthy and taking vitamins. He could also boost his metabolism to a higher rate by doing some good cardiovascular exercises.
